Full Fledged Farker
Just a quick post to let all know that I took First place in the Amateur Category. A big thanks to Plowboy for his Yardbird rub and all the other advice given here over the past years.
My scores were as follows:
J1 = 6 7 6
J2 = 7 8 8
J3 = 8 9 9
J4 = 8 7 8
J5 = 8 8 8
J6 = 8 7 7
I had trouble holding my temps down in the WSM (used too much charcoal) so I had to pull and rest the ribs for a while, while I got the cooker back down to a usable temp. Things were done way too soon, so I consider my results to be a bit lucky.
Here are some pics of the event and my box, for your viewing pleasure:

and me with my trophy!
A big thanks to everyone here on the forum for their advice and inspiration. This was a one-meat event. I have a great deal of respect for those of you who routinely handle four-meat events. :clap2:
