Hi Folks,

I'm going to go check this weber out after work today.

I talked to the guy and he said the cart was custom made by a distant relative a couple generations ago. But it looks a lot like a Weber Imperial Sequoia. Can anyone tell if the cart is real? Or how I might be able to tell when I go look at it?

It does look like it.

What's on the top of the dome besides the handle? I can't tell, but it looks un-weber-like to me.

the cart looks genuine but the lid is not a weber per say. i think its a version sold by sears but i can't think of the name at the moment. get it anyway !

I thought the vent/lid/handle looked like they may have been all painted black but it's hard to tell. I'll find out soon enough.

Well, I went and picked it up but I don't think the kettle is original. Can anyone tell me if this is a weber kettle or a some fake version?

Here a pic of the top lid. It's been painted over but the vent and handle don't seem legit

Here the inside of the lid. One of the vent hole has what looks like a tear drop shape (top right)

Inside of the base. Same shaped vent hole so the top and bottom do match

I noticed the original kettles had a bracket on the base that held it up a little above the surface a little. This one didn't have the bracket but it did have 3 spots around the base where it looked like there may have been some brackets in past. Here's one of them

But the the cart is real I think. The surface has been replace and the guy painted all of it but I think I can salvage it! Here's a few more pics

You all can probably expect a picture of it all restored some time in about 2015
