Yes, for this 1st year event... Last yr we had the same contest at Wildomar with an $11,000 purse, so thanks to the support we received at that one, we are increasing the payout by 40% (even though rent at Knotts is 10X that of Wildomar)... and if you avg out the entry fee it is only $199.50 per contest on the Super Early Bird..

New Sponsor on Board!... Buena Park's Holiday Inn... The Hotel will be offering discounted rooms at $99 + tax. Having Shuttle service to and from the BBQ, to and from Knotts and to and from Disneyland, RV, Rig or other parking available for early arriving, or late leaving teams as long as they are Hotel Guests. Teams, CBJ's, etc. can make reservations by calling 1-800-holiday (group code BBQ), or 1-714-522-7000 (group code BBQ)... or by going online to www.hibuenapark.com/wildwestBBQ (group code BBQ).. Book your rooms early, Knotts Hotel is at near capacity already for those days, Holiday Inn about 60% full as well.

Plus what a way to bring in the New Year, Sunny California 65 high 45 or so low on avg.. and this year the Rose Bowl Parade and game are schedueled for Monday 1/2/12 in case those of you coming from out of state want to make it a family vacation.. Knotts, Disney (only a a few miles away) the Rose parade.. Fireworks -- but most importantly, bringing in the New Year, with your extended BBQ family, it just doesn't get any better than this... Who will be out of the gate in 2012 with possibly 600 pts (50 team field x 2contest)- back to back GC's? and could this team be caught with 20% of the BBQ yr complete after the 1st day of the yr? Only time will tell.

5 more in.. looks like Knotts -- with 2 weeks to go will be a 50 teamer, what a way to start 2012.. 20% of the yr (2 of 10) could be back to back GC's and good luck trying to catch that team... By the way Weather for Vista next weekend 68/45... Proj weather for Knotts 72/50 -- all sunny days... you can stay snowed in, but why... Fireworks on New Years eve, BBQ competition in the daytime and again on the 1st, lots of BBQ teams, and for those of you coming to San Diego for the KCBS convention, why not come out 2 weeks earlier and make it a vacation.. Oh and maybe pick up 600pts on the competition towards the 2012 KCBS TOY... see you all there.

FAMILIES CAN RING IN 2012 TOGETHER
AT KNOTT’S NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION

BUENA PARK, Calif. – Knott’s Berry Farm will have something for the entire family this New Year’s Eve with a variety of dance music, a family friendly comedian, a Beatles tribute band and a live performance by the popular band, The Clueless Remix featuring DJ Reeso. All this plus Knott’s rides, attractions and a Midnight Mayhem Fireworks Show in Calico Square will make Knott’s New Year’s Eve celebration the place to ring in 2012.
Guests can put on their dancing shoes and get on the dance floor as Knott’s rolls out not one, but two dance parties in the park. The evening will include salsa instruction in Knott’s Fiesta Plaza and line dancing in Knott’s Wilderness Dance Hall. For those who love the music of the 60’s, Beatles tribute band Abbey Road will be performing as well as The Clueless Remix featuring DJ Reeso!
The whole family will enjoy a special performance of Snoopy on Ice and family- friendly comedian Dick Hardwick who has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for his hundreds of performances as the star of Disneyland’s “Golden Horseshoe Review.” In addition, Camp Snoopy will be open with rides and shows for the young and the young at heart including “Snoopy’s Christmas Starlight Spectacular” featuring thousands of beautiful lights and holiday music. When the clock strikes twelve, the skies above Calico Square will be ablaze with color as Knott’s rings in the New Year with a Midnight Mayhem Fireworks Show.
