The high points winner of the FBA Triple Crown for FL will also win a smoker form The Good One, AND the GC of the contest itself is winning a BGE and table package. Oh yeah, there's also a chance to win a guitar signed by Willie Nelson if you win the Old Whiskey River sauce contest. This is all on top of the organizer's prize money. :mrgreen:

Lol, I wish I could take all of the credit. Truth be told, Smokin Cracker has done a large majority of the work in making our Triple Crown Championship Series as big as it is. I couldn't begin to guess how much time and effort he's put into it, but I know it's a BUNCH. Don't hesitate to give him a Thank You when you see him :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap I know I appreciate what he does!

Winter Haven (Triple Crown) Florida Leg

Bubba Latimer, the one man Bub-Ba-Q team, nailed a solid win at the 5th Annual Smoke on the Water BBQ Contest in Winter Haven this weekend. Along with his first place in chicken, a second in brisket gave him a 3-point lead over Jacks Old South, who took Reserve. In addition to the $2000 grand prize, the Big Green Egg Company, represented by Ray Lampe -Dr. BBQ - awarded a large egg and table to Bubba.

Rub Bagby's Swamp Boy Barbecue Sauce won him the Old Whiskey River Bourbon Sauce Contest and a Willie Nelson autographed guitar. Rub's sauce beat out 45 other barbecue sauces for the title.

And with the Florida leg of the 2009 Triple Crown now complete, Larry Baker's Mount Dora Bar-B-Que Company is riding the crest of a wave of successes. His win comes with a Good One Cooker, presented here by Bill Sandbloom from Ace of Hearts/The Good One.

Congratulations Bubba! So how many does that give you? Also congratulations to JOS, and especially to Frank, Walt, and the Boys and Girls Clubs. Some highlights of the contest - steak dinner and free drinks at the cook's dinner, lakefront band shell with live music, delta wing kites flying in at night with sparks shooting out, the high school Highlanders Bagpipe band playing "Smoke on the Water", National Anthem with a fly-over, and other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting. Great contest.
