Well after putting two 9# butts on the smoker this morning 14 hours later they are done. I have done fatties, ribs, and now pork butts. I am working my way up to brisket but I think the next stop is chicken. My custom vertical smoker worked like a charm keeping temp all day. I even left for 4 hours to go install a dishwasher for my parents. I tried a small sample piece of the butt and it was good. Now I just have to wait and let it rest before I shread it up. I can't wait till lunch tomorrow. I sure am glad I didn't scrap this old air compressor tank.

Exellent work all around - love that cooker! :thumb:

That cooker is going to make a lot of fine BBQ! :clap2:

I just shreaded up the pork and it fell apart and I can't believe how juicy it is. It smelled so good the dogs got out of bed to come and mooch. The smoker is still running at 235 and I started it at 7:30 this morning on one bag of Kingsford. Now lets just see how much longer she can hold good cooking temp. Thanks for the compliments on the food and the smoker.

Very cool looking cooker ya got there! Nice job on the butts as well. Enjoy both!!

Did you build the cooker, or have it built? It's freakin' awesome looking and the butt looks delicious!

I built it from an old air compressor tank in my Dad's garage. He built a UDs and I built this one. He finaly got some thing out of the 2 years I spent in college for industrial welding.

"So I got that going for me. Which is nice.".....

I am a big fan of Caddy Shack. I actual wrote a term paper in college and used Caddy shack as a reference and the professor gave me a "b" on it because she had never had anyone go to such lengths to use a movie that had nothing to do with the subject.
