A buddy cut down a tree in his yard. Says the fruit is very astringent.
Anyone here know about choke cherry? Can it be used for smoking? If so, does diameter matter? He's got everything from small branches to 4" or 5" diameter trunk.
Should I bring it home?
If so, would this be more useful for a WSM cook as supplemental smoke (like you would use wood chunks on your charcoal bed), or could I actually burn this in my offset mixed with larger splits of oak and cherry?
