First Smoker

Got my first smoker for my bday and smoking some ribs today. I have the masterbuilt gas smoker. First observation, temp gauge is junk. Had problems getting temp to stay steady at first, but seems to be better as time went by. What's a good gauge that won't break the bank? I've looked at the maverick et732, but didn't know if there was any cheaper alternatives. Thanks.

The Char-Griller remote thermometer is basically the same as the Maverick ET732 for less $.

Smoked my first ribs yesterday also. Invest in a remote probe to monitor your inside chamber temp. I bought a cheap Taylor from Walmart to get me by until I get a good one. That thing worked awesome!! Didn't have to open the lid to check the oven gauge. Just watched from outside the chamber. Worked Great!!

The gas smoker is a nice starter smoker that will allow you to sleep through the night once you get the operating routine down.
