Greetings, My first post/question. I've been looking at post and reviews across the net on Lang,Johnson and Greasy Hills smokers, I'm starting to lean toward a vertical by Johnson, but I'm not seeing much info on them. I read some threads here last week on someone picking up a reverse smoker from Johnson and they had a chance to see a few in operation...just looking for any pointers on verticals and the Johnson smokers in particular.

I haven't seen the Johnson, but Backwoods and Humphrey's are great smokers..

I have a Humphrey's Down East Beast

Welcome. Watch out for the Greasy Hill - I'll try and find some older threads but unless they have fixed them, they had issues with small fireboxes, thin steel and poor draft.

Edit: here is a thread, about 3-4 posts into it is a reference to 3 other threads.

Bottom line, Greasy Hill is one of 3 manufacturers of the same design pit and unless they have corrected they the pits ad some pretty serious issues.
