Sometimes the thing just amazes me.

I cooked on it Monday night and shut it down Tuesday Morning. I went out Wednesday night to crank it up, pulled the charcoal basket out and the remaining coals came back to life. I just added more coals and kept right on cooking.

Amazing!

Sweet! I just built an XLUDS and will be cooking with it this weekend.

Can't wait to try mine out.

Good stuff Bigmista.

Its crazy how long coals last!..kinda off subject Neil, sorry but I see your signed up for Costa Mesa and I would like to come by your spot and say hi to a fellow brethren in person...oh our team is Left Coast Q..looking forward to seeing everyone there

Wow! My coals appear cold the next day after I shut my normal UDS down. I take them out and put them in an old bag to store...maybe I shouldn't!

I like to move ashes to a metal container or direct to the compost pile, never to something flammable.

My cook from last weekend was 23 hours on the UDS without refill or shaking the basket...and the basket wasn't even filled to the rim!
I wonder how long a XL can burn...
Love the UDS!
