Hey guys this was sent to me today, thought i'd pass it on.
Hi,

I know that you are trying to enter the North Wildwood KCBS contest. I'd like to send you a copy of our registration form for competing in our contest, The Art of BBQ in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I am getting down to the wire for admission and I would really like to see you compete in our contest. I wanted to write you an email to make sure that you consider it and to try to urge you to send in your application. Since this is the first BBQ Contest that I have ever been the Organizer for, it's kinda freaking me out too, so I just wanted to go over some of the details that you may be unaware of that have occurred in our contest.

The contest is going to be at The Atlantic City Race Course, on Friday and Saturday May 30th and 31st 2008.

This year, Memorial Day is observed on Monday May 26th but is celebrated on the weekend before that which is May 24th, & 25th the weekend BEFORE our Contest.

I know how much gas has gone up in the last month but I also know that NJ has the Lowest Gas Prices in the country and it is ALL FULL SERVICE. You are not permitted to pump your own gas, it's the law here. I guess having the highest state income taxes and the highest state property taxes in the country, is good for something.

There are 8 Major Casinos located 12 miles away for our Event Site.

Our Event Site backs up to the Largest Indoor Shopping Mall in South Jersey called Hamilton Mall, so if the kids or the family or your other teammates just want to take a break you can see the back entrances to Macy's JC Penny's and Sears from the Fair Grounds.

We have over 25 musical groups that have signed up to perform all day Saturday and we will be having our Amateur Competition AFTER The Pro Awards Ceremony on Saturday Evening.

We have a Casino Sponsor that is giving us 15 Pairs of Tickets to Shows in their Showrooms and I will have the show names available on the day of check-in, on our Event Grounds. Friday May 30th.

I have another Sponsor that has given us a Limo for 4 hours on Friday Night and I am trying to arrange for them to be available between 7 pm and 11 pm to shuttle ya'll back and forth so that you don't have to worry about driving after you've had a drink or two.

I have Regal Movie Theater as a Sponsor for our Event and they are giving me 10 Pairs of Tickets so that if you can maybe have, if you don't like casinos. The movie theater is only a mile from the Event Site. I can maybe get you a ride if you set your rig up and don't want to pull out to catch a flick.

I also have a few local restaurants that have given me Gift Certificates. if you may just want, to have someone else cook for you for a change. You can use the Movie Tickets or Dinners any night that you want that you're in the area if you wanted to stay over a day or so. I'm trying to beat up some hotels in the area so that I can pass the savings on to you if you need lodging. I've listed some of the Hotels, Motels and Campgrounds on our website if you need anything else. We also have a New Outlet Mall that opened in AC last year if you like Outlet Stores, called "The Walk".

I am only giving these perks to teams on a first come first served basis. So if you just need to get out a night then this is a possibility. BUT you really gotta get in your Application and your check, so that I can hold one of these gifts for you.

Please, help me out and send in your package ASAP. Good luck and we'll see you in a few weeks.

www.TheArtOfBBQ.com We are going to be having our advertising beginning in the next day or two on Ray Basso's BBQ Forum. Please post on the site talking about your involvement so that we can get the buzz going. I am also contacting KCBS and the Mid Atlantic BBQ Association to try to buy some advertising to get this to be a great contest. If anybody has any ideas on how to get the word out I could really use your help or suggestions.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and interest,

David Goldberg

Got that too. I think he said he had about a dozen teams, hoping for thirty. Sounds interesting just haven't looked at it too close yet.

Trying to work out my schedule. Anyone going? They have about 22 teams.

We got the invite but will not be attending. The Monmouth County Fair is having one in July 25, 26 I think. We are doing that one.
