Hi All I need some info. about the, AC Event. I tried to go to the Smoke on the waters web site, but got an error message 304 and that I was forbiddin??
I'd like to know where the event is being held, what hotels are near by, and if there is a list of the teams coming?

What's AC? More info would help, like dates, location, full title.
 
Atlantic City I understand there are some fairly large payoffs I know Guru is in it and I believe Mike Fay
 
With a contest paying to 20th place and a $10k GC prize, I would hope there's a lot of times entering!

Hi All I still get an error message: forbiddin 304.
Here is what I get?? This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that this program was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

I can hit their site as well. Try clearing your browser cache. That sometimes helps. Or, are you on a corporate network? Could the firewall be blocking it?

It's being held in the Showboat parking lot on the north end of Atlantic Avenue. There are competitor rates at all CET properties (Showboat, Harrahs, Caesars). The two closest hotels are the Showboat and The Trump Taj Mahal.

I will taking a bus down there for the day, it on ly stops at the Trop. so I guess I have walk to get to Event location.

It's about a 20 block walk from the Trop. Take the Jitney (bus) that runs Atlantic Ave.
 
Wife and I were in Atlantic City last month for the first time, stayed at the wyndham around the corner from the Taj Mahal. What a great venue for a bbq contest.
Like others said, take the Jitney bus, it was $2.25 pp each way, well.worth it. Several stops along.the way and the bus driver would stop most anywhere you asked him to.
Good luck to everyone cooking in this one.
 
We will be there, I have a bunch of rooms at all different casinos. may have a few extras if anyone needs. I will let you know.
 
Just booked at The Showboat tonight for Friday night and Saturday night. I called the 800# and mentioned the BBQ Contest rate and it was about $40 higher than just going to the Showboat website and booking the rooms.
 
Rates

Hi Sat nite rates are very high..Resorts wanted $299.00 for Sat. When I looked at Showboat the rate for Sat was $245.00. No wonder why they are dying down there.
