Found some 1/2 pork loin packs for $1.99 lb and spares for $1.49 lb. at Krogers. That's about half price.

Ive boughten their previously frozen pork ribs. They are well over 4-5 pound racks.....I wasnt happy w/their taste or texture. I think they came from Pig Zillas brood.
Thanks for the heads up though.
Curious as to anybodys elses expierence w/their ribs?

Tom Thumb has butts for .99 a pound. Worth a look.

Local Kroger's here normally run the Whole Pork Loins on sale for $1.77/lb. and they run the sale Very Frequently too !!

That they sure are Bull  ...I had to call home and check:mrgreen: we have been buying them for Years and have them sliced for Pork Chops....they are good that way...even Enhanced !!

Go Kroger! (I'm currently consulting at Kroger... Keep buying so they can keep affording my service!!!

My local Kroger ran out of the "Moist and Tender" brand and is subbing Swift brand non-enhanced ribs... My sister works in the pharmacy there, so she talked to the meat guy and I got to pick through a few cases to find the racks I wanted. Ended up with 12 racks in the freezer... $1.49 is cheaper than the case price at Sam's or Costco...

James.

I baked a pork tenderloin from Krogers yesterday. It weighed just over 2 pounds, figured it out to melt in your mouth. Basted in in Coca cola. Ran to an internal of 145. Let it rest and got to 170 internal. It turned out tougher than hell.
I reheated it again today in pan w/foil for hour and a half at 350 in the oven. Guess what still tuff as chit.
Last time I get tenderloin at Kroger. Ive done many of them before and they just fell apart.
Anybody else ever expierence this w/such a small and alleged tender cut of meat?

Mike

Bull, this just makes me glad that we don't have a Krogers in Des Moines. We have a local chain called Fareway that has a pretty decent meat counter that I use most of the time.

Disclaimer: I do not work for or have any interest in Fareway Stores other than I spend a lot of $$$ there.
