So I've been lurking around here for a while, taking in as much info as possible. After spending the last week reading every thread on brisket I could find I finally gave it a shot. Couldn't find a packer so I picked up a 5# flat from Costco, rubbed it with salt, pepper and cayenne, tossed on the smoker at 225-250 and let her ride. Came out tasting better then I expected.

What you guys think?

Wow....for a first time that is impressive for sure. What did you think? tenderness? Dry/not dry?

Taste was great. Tenderness was good passed the pull test. It wasn't dry at all which surprised the hell out of me, but no one that ate it had any complaints so how can I?

Looks great to me. It's nice when that first one comes out better than expected. I know mine did.:thumb:

Looks great. My first one (way back when) didn't turn out so good.
