The following has been posted on the FLBBQ Association site:
Kooter was a character - loved the cook offs and man could he put on a show when his team "Kick the Tire-Light the Fire" placed. He was indeed "Big Daddy".
He'll be missed.
___________
from FLBBQ.org website:
It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Bob "Kooter" Brown. Kooter collapsed on Friday morning, August 19th at the Smokin' on the Square contest in Manchester, Tennessee. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. Kooter was a not only a founding member of the FBA and a long time member of the Board of Directors, but he was a dedicated barbecue cook with his team "Kick the Tire, Light the Fire". Anyone who ever attended an FBA event knew him from his famous breakfasts on Saturday morning. The August issue of the NBBQN has a column by Kooter in which he talks about creating memories. All of us now have nothing but good memories of good friend. Our prayers and comforts go out to his wife Maura and son Ray.
