Contest Announcment King Turkey Day BBQ Cookoff - Worthington, MN - Sept. 16 & 17th 2011

For those of you in Southern MN, Eastern SD, Northern IA, and NE Nebraska, there is a new BBQ contest in Worthington, MN that may draw your interest. I grew up in Worthington, and I know they have been working on getting this contest off the ground for a couple of years now. They want to make it a recurring contest, and are very open to feedback from cooks. They are limited on space for the first year, so what I've heard is that they will only be able to handle maybe 16-20 teams the first year. So get your apps in early. Turkey Day in Worthington is a fun weekend, and has been going on there for over 70 years if I remember correctly. Cuero, TX is the sister city in the annual Turkey Day events, and they also have a corresponding IBCA cook-off. Not all the information is posted yet, but they will be posting it shortly.
