Traveling through North Carolina on I-95 there are two decent places you could check out: in Wilson - Bill's Barbecue (aka Bill Ellis') or Parker's Barbecue; then as you pass by Fayetteville there is a new GOOD Q-joint that MOST Q-fectionados don't even know about yet (they just opened in December), is Memphis Barbecue Company (co-owned by Melissa Cookston - 4 time World Champion, and John Wheeler - NUMEROUS grand champion awards)!!!!!!!! I can honestly say that this is one GREAT place!!! a wee bit costly, but great food! IMHO.

Lol, yeah i'm a little far south for those. And I agree Memphis BBQ is at the top of my list for restaurant bbq. However, if you're going to fayetteville for bbq, you have to go to fatbacks also. The food is as good or better but the atmosphere at memphis bbq is better.
