Does this sound good to you folks. I was thinking of making it.

Ingredients

2 cups beef broth
16 oz Speakeasy Brewing Payback Smoked Porter
6 oz tomato paste
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup prepared yellow mustard
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 tsp kosher salt

Directions:

1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan.

2. Simmer on low, approximately 1 1/2 hours uncovered, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Add water if it becomes too thick. Watch closely so it doesn’t burn.

4. Refrigerate in a covered jar for up to six months.

Makes 4 cups.

I tried the Budweiser sauce once... it was disgusting. Tasted like feet soaked in urine.

Hope yours comes out better.

Sounds like its worth trying. Any quality porter should make a good sauce with that recipe.

I agree with both statements. Any good porter would make a tasty sauce combined with the right ingredients. Using common Budweiser sounds just plain nasty. Also we have learned cutting back on the umami bombs, in this case Worcesteshire sauce, is better.

Yea I have never understood people wanted to put Beer in bbq sauce. Warm beer is about the worst thing in the world and the taste doesnt get cooked all the way off with its low alcohol content. Put some whiskey or wine if you want spirit flavored sugars in there. Much better
