Got to spend quality time with my dad on Saturday. The person that showed me how to work and be responsible!!
The man that said to me " men don't use straws to drink from a cup" "men don't need sides when there's good meat" "drink beer but never show how drunk you are" I can go on on...

Back to bbq..
Did some ribs with a homemade rub my friend sponge bob made. Used the orange wood I got. Like Jim Lampe told me..." Light mild flavor"

Cooked them for about 2 hours then foiled with butter, brown sugar , little more seasoning and a little applejuice. Foil was 1 hour then unwrapped and cooked for one 1 hour. One rack dry and other bbq sauce.

Plated with my wife's bbq beans and mashed potatoes and corn bread.

Thank for looking and Happy Father's Day to all my bbq and grilling friends.

My Dad and I were always in the back yard with the smoker loaded with brisket or ribs when I was growing up and nothing bonded us more. We spent many a Saturday afternoon on the back patio with an ice chest of beer and good music, smelling the smoke from the pecan and mesquite wood coming from the stack of our old smoker. Those are among my happiest memories and now that my Dad's been gone for a little over five years I appreciate those times that we shared more than ever before. Cherish the time you have with your Dad, there's only one of him and I'm sure that I don't have to tell you that nothing can replace him! On another note though, NICE LOOKING RIBS!!!!:thumb:

Top notch! That cornbread looks killer too.

Nothing better than spending time with the man that made sure you turned into a man. Not everyone's that lucky.

My dad and I every Father's Day I would buy him a bottle of tequila and we would drink it until done. He is more mellow now since he found god and is living a more sober life. He just to be out of control and is currently married with a woman my age and has kids the age of mine.

Really nice! Food looks great and I love the picture of you with your Dad. I still wish I could have know my Dad as an adult. He died when I was 18.

You have a nice family. Thanks for sharing them with us!

Go Cowboys! (Wait...first we need to dump Romo, then Jerry)...
