I imagine that's where all the flats come from. The packing houses probably sell all their points to Hormel and other mass producers because the point is such a better part of the brisket.

I think you are missing the point of this thread :heh: Why set yourself up for disappointment, just cut to the chase and buy tri-tip.

Nope. Cooked a packer a couple weeks ago though. Got a prime tri tip in the freezer that'll be coming out soon.

OH YEAH! Going to Moose's on Saturday. He mentioned that he'll be cooking a brisket. :whoo: If it's as good as his tri tip, then I'm in for a fantastic meal. :hungry: Glad he got those logs split and stacked already. :heh:
