What do you guys(and girls) use for a probe. I have a thin thermometer rt600c it always feels like it goes right in. Should I be using something thicker?

I usually use my Thermapen since it's always on hand, but a metal or bamboo skewer works, too.

You can use whatever you like that is pretty small diameter. But use the same thing every time. You will get used to it. some people use tooth picks, thermapens, skewers.....
I usually have bamboo skewers in the area, but they are holding my jalapeno olives in my bloody mary :-D
