cooking the other day with my wga and lump i realized i needed to make the coal grate holes smaller. best way is to use exp metal. i kinda stock up when i go to the metal place. had a near perfect piece. while doing this i remembered i had given my sj piece to my son. luckily the left over piece was near perfect, close enough. now i'm ready !

Good plan. I just got a 3'x7' piece at a garage sale for the same thing on my Webers. I ALMOST felt guilty about stealing it for $3 :-o

these are laid on top of the regular grates thus making the spaces smaller. this makes it harder for the small pieces of lump to fall through. works perfectly.

i thought i should take a pic with them on the grates but didn't. will post pics of that later.

updated pic showing exp metal on grates to show how spacing is reduced.
