Brethren Armor kindly sent some products from his family's mill, the Amherst Mill in Amherst Va. Thank you so much Armor!!
I love grits but have never tried them so fresh.

I cut some back strap and a small hunk of venison roast into medallions, pounded then seasoned them with Wickedcajun's Pookie G DaYum rub.
Love this rub, thanks G!

I really loved this stuff. The grits from Armor's family mill were out of this world good!
The venison had a slight kick from the Pookie G rub... it was perfect! :-D

I've been using last season's stash of venison. Hope to replenish it in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for looking!

Looks great as always Jeanie!

This Yankee is developing a taste for grits after spending some time in the NC & VA area. Unfortunately the only grits I find up here in tundra are (gasp) instant.

First cook I've seen you do in a while that didn't involve a tractor rim, although it looks like you could have easily done it there too.

Looks delicious, just added another pound, thanks alot:wink:.

That's some mighty fine home cookin' Jeannie.

What did you add to make cheesy grits?

That looks so good. I think I could almost do in that whole pot by myself. Well, I would try anyway.:clap2::clap2:

Excellent cook cowgirl! Armor generously sent me some Amherst Mill grits also.(Thanks again Mike!). I think I ate half the pot checking for doneness during the first cook, they are so flavorful!!
