In another thread I lamented about opening my brand new smoker to find the body was dented where the rim meets the dome. Weber is sending me a new body. What do I do with the old one? Think I could rig up some sort of grill out of it?

I would mount a rotisserie in it.
You could use it to hang meats also if modified.
Will it stack up on the lower ring and make a taller unit?

Do you mean the Center section?

I converted mine to a dedicated WSM rotisserie ring. Used it quite a bit until I got a reversable ring from Cajun Bandit.

Others made a "stacker" for multi level cooking grates.

Are you talking about a kettle or WSM?

I've seen brethren use the bottom section of a kettle for the lid for a UDS. Makes for a TALL lid! I always wanted to do it.

Flip it over and make a pizza oven :thumb:

Pretty sure he's talking about the center section of a WSM.

Yes, I am talking about the center section. I was thinking about having a buddy weld something to the bottom and seal up the door, then make a WSM UDS?

I'm all for donating it to a brethren-in-need...

I was fortunate enough to have a fellow Brethren (BobInStLouis) donate his 'out of round' center section and slightly scuffed lid to me. I added the bottom of a CL kettle, ordered a door and water pan from Weber... and now I've got my own WSM! The lid for a 22.5 kettle will fit nicely on the center section...
