Is that the one you got for the XL looking like a large BGE on craigslist?? Any farker that gets that good of a deal should leave it as is. :-D
I have a homemade cart for my XL and I put a couple coats of clear Poly, it sure make it easier to clean all the goop I spill on it. The cedar should take the poly well.

Stain whatever color you want and then polyurethane. I makes a world of difference in keeping it clean.
