Zilla, I agree completly. A hell of a good recipe. I have done it a couple of times.
Ditto on the soy sauce and salt, but I did use the sherry and was happy:lol:

Huli Huli sauce:
1/3 cup dark brown sugar
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup sherry (or good red wine)
1/3 cup ketchup
1 Tbs rice wine vinegar
2 - 1/4"x2" Ginger slices smashed
2 garlic cloves smashed
2 green onions smashed and chopped course
Simmer all in a saucepan until sauce thickens and will coat a spoon. Set aside

Chicken prep:
1/2 cup sesame oil (for rubbing the chicken)
Salt
Pepper

Rub chicken with sesame oil then salt and pepper to taste
Grill over medium heat until golden brown
4-5 min before done brush with Huli Huli sauce and turn to prevent burning.
