Flurry of activity (PrOn)

I've been trying all sorts of fun things!

Yesterday I fired up my cobbed up smoker.
I've had the grill for years as a backup, and already had a pot that kinda works.
Kinda.

Spatchcock Chicken:

Really tender and tasty! Family loved it!

So...
Why not try something else for football snacks?

MOINKS!!!

And maybe some...
Fatty!
Never tried any of these before, so results may be sketchy! :shock:

Fatty and Beef ribs currently hummin right along at 255...

Yep! Just like those who have used the Vasconia or Imusa, the bottom of the pot was removed with a 1" rim left for stability.

These are all temporary solutions. I want to see what kind of grub I can produce before justifying $ into a larger smoker. So far, so good :-D

Here's a shot of the MOINKs before the sauce bath. My wife ate 3 before I noticed. I think that experiment was a hit!

Here's a shot of the ribs. They had great color and flavor. Well, I liked it anyhow...
I'm sure I need to practice my method and learn what to look for. That will help with improvement going forward.

Dark, but not burnt. 1/8 inch smoke. (crummy pic, actually looks darker in the pic)

Pretty Pleased, overall :clap:

Wife and kids all fed!
I learned a bunch,(i.e. bacon grease will flash in a hurry:wacko

and will continue to fiddle with this little smoker until I find a 30 gallon drum. Nice to have a portable solution if the need arises.

Oh...and the only thing I had to buy was lump. Beats my gas grill anyday!

I love my mini-wsm, just haven't had a cook on it in a while.

Congrats...Sounds like you will be smoking more often, if the wife and kids liked it!
