Puddlers?

I was reading a tutorial on a bbq blog about easy competition brisket. During the step about injecting the author stressed the importance about wiping any puddles of injection off of the meat as soon as possible, and even made a note that in the competition world people who don`t wipe off are known as `puddler.` I would like to know, what`s the big deal with puddling?
 
That's a new term to me. I'm not sure of the logic, unless he's talking about putting rub on immediately following the injection. In that you don't want to put rub on a big puddle of injection? I wouldn't worry about it.
