I've been asked to make my brisket chili for a fundraiser in a couple of weeks. It is a chili cookoff with few participants where the people will sample each and then vote. Then a bowl of their favorite. So I have been told to prepare enough for at least 150. It is cook at home and bring it up in full size aluminum pans. So how many full size aluminum pans do I need to be able to serve that many people?

Most important detail left out:
What size container are the samples going into??

hopefully 4 0z containers
150 servings x 4 ox serving = 600 oz total
8 oz equals 1 cups
16 cups per gallon
8 oz x 16 cups = 128 oz per gallon----you need 600 oz
so 600 oz divided by 128 ox equals 4.6875 gallons
I would make 5 gallons minimum
5 gallons would be 640 oz or 160 four ounce servings

Boshizzle used to cook a little chili. He may be able to help you.

Chili cookoffs usually require a 2-3 oz sample for each person to taste.

If you make 5 gallons your more than covered.
