I hope you tried to post a picture.... there is not one there.

That would be a 1997 Weber Genesis 1000. The EI in the serial number indicates the year. Here's a parts list:

You can find the part numbers you need from that diagram and then possibly find them on Amazon or Ebay but IMO you'll be better off getting the parts from Weber directly. They don't jack up their prices, you should at least price compare.

Sorry to hijack but jimithing78 can you tell me the year on mine? PL7-6539

Are you sure that's a serial number? That doesn't look like a normal Weber serial number. They're normally a letter or two and then a dash or space + a number.

That's referring to charcoal grills but the letter codes are still good on gassers.

Nickos, try ebay for the bars. You'll find them there for significantly less than Weber. You will find many other parts there as well.

Try this link for ordering

Ebay might be cheaper but when you compare prices with Ebay make sure you're looking at the exact same part numbers. Weber has a lot of different flavorizer bar sizes and it would suck to get the wrong one. The Weber website is offering free shipping in the month of May so take shipping costs into account. Here is the message I saw on facebook about their free shipping:

We are celebrating Barbecue Month with free shipping on weber.com! Just enter the code "MAYBBQ2011" at checkout. This offer is good until 6/24/11 and applies to standard FedEx Ground and USPS deliveries within the continental US.

there is a guy on ebay and craigs list that makes better flavouriser bars at a cheaper price. also nice ss grates. he is in burlingame ca (bay area).

The Weber 1000's make excellent Coffee Roasters!

And YES, you can still get parts for them!

wow, can't say i've ever seen a weber as a coffee roaster. you own a coffee shop or you just drink a lot of coffee?

I too picked up a 1000 a couple years ago on Craigslist. Replaced the flavorizer bars and burners and it works like a charm.

I suspect my next upgrade will involve cutting some 1"x2"s for the side tables.

Lastly, I replaced that Weber quick connect nipple on the gas tank. Everything else I own uses the "normal" threaded connector, and I didn't want to have a single, dedicated tank for my grill.

thats the first thing i did, went to the hardware store and brought in that quick connect hose and a regular hose and made up an adapter to get a regular hose on there
mine still needs a lot of work but ill get there sooner or later
