Chef's Table is fun...but also hard to take too seriously. One of the first episodes where the chef is big on farm to table, he's waxing poetically about changing the world with better practices and whatnot, and we pulled up his place and looked at the menu and it was like ~$400 a head for dinner.

at all about BBQ, but The Great British Baking Show is really good too. It's not like most competition shows (which I hate).
