Have some bone in ribeyes I wanted to caveman but I got called into work and by the time I got home the wind was way too heavy to fire up the jumbo so I settled for a cast iron ribeye.

Onions followed the steak.

Finished the onions with a tab of butter.

And smothered it ... Hit the spot, but tomorrow I will be eating Caveman steaks!!!

I'm sorry, this post isn't about BBQ. I'm going to have to penalize you 1 ribeye steak. Hand it over!

Looks great!

CI skillet is my go to method for filets (stovetop sear on high heat, oven finish at 500 for a few min per side with a pat of butter)...wasn't a fan of ribeyes on the CI skillet, but I was still new to the process, so I may give it another go since yours look great! ;)

Wow, it is really tough to settle for such an inferior meal...looks great! Thanks, reminded me of my Grandpa who cooked all his steaks that way.

Turn the fan on you hood on and get it screaming hot. A couple minutes per side and it's good to go. I have set the smoke detectors off plenty of times with ribeyes, haven't burnt anything down tho... Yet

Yeah, same here. I have done the CI skillet method outside as well when our baby was a newbown and sleep was something you dare not risk interrupting! :)

Looks mighty fine to me. CI imparts a great flavor to anything cooked on it

That is not settling. I always do my ribeyes in CI. My wife doesn't like the mess I make, but hey...

I bought a 'Flat Top' for my patio, for occasions when I don't use my Weber or offset.
I like to do breakfast on the 'Flat Top'... Steaks and Chops are pretty good too.
BUT...
Tonight I'm doing Buffalo Chicken Drumsticks on the Weber. They are in a Butter Milk and Franks Wing Sauce brine. Love em almost as much as my Buffalo Wings...
