I was recently talking to a dear friend about chickenfried steaks. Couldn't get it out of my thoughts, so I had to make one!
I usually use round steak but didn't have one on hand. I did have a ribeye though.

I "gently" pounded the ribeye to the thickness I wanted..

seasoned up some flour with corn starch, granulated garlic, onion powder, cayenne, cracked black pepper, coarse salt, I think that was it.

Dredged the steak in the seasoned flour, then into the egg/milk bath.

Then into the seasoned flour with a bit of panko bread crumbs added...
I used my fingers to press the panko, seasoned flour onto the steak..

Then let it rest while I prepped the tatoes n biscuits..

Even though the steak was big enough to feed me for 2 days, I enjoyed it. :-D
I think it might be the best chickenfried steak I've had in awhile. lol

Thanks for looking!

Oh yeah! You've outdone yourself again, jeanie. That looks absolutely wonderful. What a magnificient breakfast that had to be! Kudos!

I would suggest not holding back so much with us and tell us how you really feel about that meal.

Not that I wouldn't do the exact same thing, mind you...

 Thanks Richard! :-D

Thanks so much Dom! I judge a diner by their chickenfried steaks and their catfish. If they can't make those, I don't go back. :-D

That is my favorite breakfast ever and yours looks like the best I have ever seen! I bet it tasted even better!!! Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my iPad.

That is one top notch chicken fried steak! Now you’ve put the bug in my head, thanks! I have a feeling my oldest son and I will be enjoying a meal very similar to that this coming weekend.

I have some ribeyes in the freezer. They don't know it but they will not see the grill. Where's my mallet?

Jeanie, I've been craving this for a couple weeks. Thanks for the "sign" ;-))

Just signed into my computer at work and decided to take a look at the forum... This is the first thing I see... Now I have to sit here all day dreaming of this... Thanks Jeanie! (Looks DELICIOUS by the way) :biggrin1:

That looks awesome!! One of my favorite comfort foods ever. Try it next time smothered with a green chile sauce. You will love it.

Great job!!!

I don’t know why I use the cubed steaks from the store instead of pounding my own. I need to try it next time!
