No Guitarbeque this year ?????

Had an unexpected leave from work due to the horrendous rains upstate NY the last 2 months. I was wondering this morning when this years Guitarbeque was to be held in Asbury Park this year and went to their site to see the 'Brethren' not on the comp list?

Yes, no ????? ............ Hoped to see you guys cook again and lend a hand.
 
we are judging... schedules to full to spend 3 days at asbury. So we'll be down there.. we can hook up sunday if ya want..

Are the beaches still closed?
 
I thought the whole state of New Jersey was shut down, according to the news reports.
 
I`m going to ry to get down there sometime by Saturday morning. Won`t be able to stay thru the whole afternoon if that. Sunday possible too. Too much to do. Hope there won`t be too many rainbow`s waving around down there?

Yeah, NJ politics strikes again. With the additional 10`s of thousands of relativily wealthy people moving here, they still can`t balance a budget? Everything from elementary schools to high schools are built today as a good college campus. "Let`s close everything but keep our salaries". Nice.

This is no joke. I am wondering if Guitarbecue will be in jepordy. All New Jersey Parks are closed. Everything is shut down with the exception of emergency or essential services. Even the Casinos have been closed.
 
I just talked with the people in NJ and the park is not stated owned, beach is open, Tiki Bar restocked with drinks and all is well at this time. I fly out tomorrow and will be there thursday afternoon.

ya beat me to it Arlie ... by at least two day.. but he convention center guy got got back to me just got an E mail that stated every thing is a go.. see Y'all there

Turns out the dates are changed and the judging is Sat not Sun
 
I selected the last week in july for vacation in Jan when we had to put in our schedule at work, just so I'd be off for Guitarbque, based on last years date. damn if they didnt move it up and Im not off. Now the judging date is moved. How do they expect anyone to plan for such a event? My MIL lives 35 mi from there, and I'd love to be there, even be a judge, but that may have to wait to 2007.
