18 WSM Score!

During my morning coffee and CL scan, I came across a 18 WSM used only twice for forty bucks. Did I need it? Not really at this time, but if I end up trying my hand at some competitions next year it should be enough for me to get started. I texted him to confirm it was for forty and he said yeah as long as you get here before 5:30PM. Hour trip up to Denver and back, and she's mine.

The guy said he tried ribs a couple of times, but just didn't have the patience for it so he's been just cooking them in his oven and finishing them off on the grill. Part of me thought that I could explain how if done right his WSM could hold more steady temps than his oven, but yeah...I'm bad like that! :icon_devil

I would not have said diddly either...fella could have changed his mind and you'd be out the gas, time, and new smoker. I'd take a WSM 18 inch for 40 bucks all day long.

Yeah I checked the date code this morning. Looks like its a 2007. Definitely looked like it was only cooked on twice.
