Is it true Weber is re-launching the 14.5 WSM in 2014?

14.5 used to be called the 1880.

It would be great for tailgates.

With those with a homemade mini or a old 14.5.. How much can you hold on one of these?

I got one last year

I have heard it to be true from someone I trust as a source. Time will tell.

I certainly don't need one, but I'll sure as heck have one if they do.

I can fit an 8 lb chicken in mine. It will hold a 6 lb brisket on one grate. Or a bunch of ABTs or moinks and cook them to a turn.

It does not do racks of ribs well unless you don;t mind coiling or cutting them. I don't know offhand what size butt it will hole, but should be at least 10 lb.

It is my most versatile cooker. If Weber brings back the 14.5 WSM (AKA the 1880) I will have one!

A fair and appropriate price would be $149.
I'd guess (and this is totally a guess) that it would be at minimum $199, but likely $249, since the 1880 was only $20 less than the 18" when they were made in the early 80's.

To me 249 is too expensive. I would just spring for a 18.5 at that.

If they could make it 149.99 they will sell a ton them, then it turn to get people to upgrade once or twice to the 18 and 22.

Smokey Joe (14.5") is $30, the 18.5" OTS is $79 and the 22.5" OTS is $99. Since Smokey Joe is half the price of the 18.5" OTS, it makes sense that the 14.5 WSM should be priced at around $149 -- my opinion anyways. I think $149 would be the sweet spot for them on this smoker--they'd sell a ton that way. If it was $199, I doubt they'd sell many.

I'd buy one at $149 but not at $199 -- no way.

30 is half of 80?:confused: What kind of math do they teach in Okie?

All I'm saying is based on the pattern from the 1880, it's not going to be as low as we hope it will be. It would be awesome if it was, but highly unlikely IMO.
