Poll question says (or asks) it all.

Using the BBQ Guru, do you use the clip and clip onto a grate, or use something else like a potato to suspend the probe off the grate?

Thanks.

The clip on mine got lost so I just let the probe hang down in the center of the grate about 1-2" below it in the center.

On my Backwoods Gater, the temp probe is on the door thermo. Went to Radio Shack and bought jumper clips because the "Cayman" clips are too small for the Gater grates.

Here is my post about putting the probes on the Tru-Tel stem in the door.

Nice mod! For me, I am kinda afraid of getting temp readings at the door, and not at the back which is where I place most of the meat; towards the back.

I think I will try some cooks and use different temp probes and place in the back and on the Tel Tru probe and see what I come up with as far as the spread.

Very good idea and many thanks!
