We're going....
It's a fun contest, but make sure you arrive before the festival opens to the public. They will not let you drive in once the gates are open. Huge crowds...

Merrimac is a fun one. Big festival, lotsa stuff going on, and it is a qualifier for Jack.
Like Ted said, they WILL NOT let you in once those gates open, unless you walk your stuff in. It doesn't matter you miss the load-in window by 2 minutes, you won't get in... trust me on that.
If you're bringing kids, bring money. There is a ton of things for them to do/eat/buy. Personally, I spend ALL my money at Dr. Gonzo's. Good stuff there.
Also, bring your galoshes, just in case, and sunblock. Merrimac has had everything from heavy rain and DEEP mud to 100+ temps.
