$441.95 would get me about 196.42lbs of IBP Choice at the local corner store. Hopefully it pays off for you.

What is going to hurt is when a team using an UDS and a 20.00 brisket take home a GC and your gold plated brisket doesn't place. :heh:

Good luck :thumb:

My wholesaler in Dallas used SRF but has since discontinued them and went with a company out of Iowa. Their stated reason was that the quality as well as the actual mix of the cow was down to 25% waygu and they could not continue to support the elevated prices and poor quality. Bought 2 of the Iowa ones the other day and paid 5.59 per pound. This is just for some experimenting as I usually cook Sam's CAB choice flats and do quite well with them. Just some food for thought.

were using the briskets from texas,we did not order SRF and will never again, iwas comparing prices since i heard they went up so much:crazy:

I'm glad I got 3 90# cases of Prime sitting in my freezer. At the time they were $1.50/lb hope my $1.50 brisket doesn't beat all you fancy pants......

I typically get Wagyu Briskets from a local butcher for $4 per/lb and SRF for roughly $5 per/lb - only because I live one state away and shipping is very reasonable ($39 for (3) 14 lb'ers. I'm assuming by the discount, you used the comp code with your SRF order. It's worth 15% off.. :thumb:

Bought excel prime for $2.29 a pound a month and a half ago. Tried to order them again and was told they didn't know when they could get them in. I found national prime but they cost me $3.19/lb.

I would be ecstatic to get prime brisket for 3.19 @ lb.
BJ's, Sam's Club etc in Delaware are in the 3.49@lb range for choice.

You can get Strube @ BigPoppaSmokers.com with some killer shipping prices, and nice discounts on cases... if you are going for TX brisket.

I sure am hoping all those 90# cases has like 7-8 briskets in them lol.... I quit buying from Scavuzzo's for that reason. Seems like everytime I got over 80# case, it ended up have 7 briskets in it. Our Sam's has been getting Prime in, and our meat guy will let me dig through the cases and build one. $1.98/lb when he has it in (case price). $2.29 in the case for a single. The normal Angus choice is $2.19/lb in the case , so hard to beat for the price. When he has it. RD also occasionally gets some in, but they also have choice angus all the time, so I can always find decent ones there too.

I'm still pretty new at competing, but I dont think I'm going to dabble in these "designer briskets" I may not ever get a brisket walk, but something about it goes against my grain.

Resturant Depo in KCMO has choice brisket at $1.99/lb and superior angus beef brisket for $2.29/lb. I don't know what superior means, but the superior briskets looked good and they had lots to choose from.
