Reminder- Last day for True Value Lump sale

Ya picked up four more bags yesterday. At my store they still had several stacks left.

It's been 2 years since I last stocked up & I was running low so I went & picked up 20 bags the other day. All set for a while now.

Bought that stuff a long time ago, wouldn't buy it ever again no matter how cheap from my experience unless they vastly changed their product. Then i would consider. I read a review a while back that it was improved but sometimes a deal really ain't a deal. Last bags I got years ago there was rocks, looked like plywood scraps, trim scraps, some actu hardwood and who knows what else.

Cowboy lump has really stepped up there game. They are better quality than the Royal Oak bags as of late.

The 2 bags of cowboy I have used since I picked some up from the sale have been great. They are all chunks from trees, no scrap wood. There wasn't any type of debris like rocks or insulation in them either. The wood isn't quite as dense as Wicked Good, but it is definitely much more dense than Royal Oak.

I have been disappointed with RO lately as the stuff you mentioned, plywood scraps, trim scraps, rocks and lots of dust have been regulars in the bags I had used before switching to Wicked Good.

I tried out Cowboy because it was onsale and the new Made In Mexico bags had good pictures and reviews from other Brethren. I would suggest that you give it a try before you swear it off again. For $8.10 at Lowes (price match + 10% off) for a 20lb bag, I will say you can not go wrong.

you have not been paying attention to the posts here about it the past few weeks. I even posted pics of the new stuff, and I am not the only one who did..

It may not be the best lump out there, but its completely different that the old stuff.

It is different than what they had in the past, but after burning a bag and a half, I just stocked up on 10 bags of Royal Oak from RD for 8.99 per bag. last day today as well.
I know you're comparing 17.6lb bags to 20 for cowboy, but I get a cleaner burn from RO.

YMMV

JMoney, the stuff made in Mexico is NOT plywood/scrap wood. Buttburner seems to think it may be hickory, I'm not sure myself to be honest.

It's much, MUCH better than days of old, but I went back to trusty RO.

correctlon

I think there may be mesquite in it. If I told you hickory I misspoke. It seems similar to some Lazzari Mesquite I have
