Bark on the wood??

I've been chopping up splits for future cooks and was wondering what the general concensus is on bark. I've got a bunch of sugar maple and oak that I'm cutting up. Should I take the bark off it, or does it matter?

I don't bother, but I use alot of chunk but the logs I do have are apple, very thin bark.

I also have an azzhole new dog that steals the apple and gnaws the bark off, gnaws the wood handles off my bbq tools, gnaws the rake handle, and chews on rocks.

She finds out the fence is made of wood and I'm farked.

Wouls not bother unless handy. This subject lkind of like asking everyone which ahnd they wipe with if you know what I mean.

I personally prefer the bark removed off of chunks, especially the sugar maple.....

If it falls off, it stays off. If it don't fall off, I don't bother.

Don't use dogwood. Of course, you can tell if you have dogwood.

If it starts to sepparate on its own I'll finish the job and pull it off but I don't struggle with peeling bark off the log. The thicker the bark, the easier it will come off.

We all say pretty much the same in here and that one.

I have converted to chunks from splits, so bark is hardly ever around anyway.
No more preheating, so no more "bug fries" either
