Fire box loaded with charcoal and wood.
Water pan foiled.

Inside the box. Basically works like a Backwoods. Pipe in the lower chamber is inflow for the Guru and slides into the firebox. Heat is diverted inside the double wall, enters the cooking chamber at the top, and exits out the slotted vent.

Nice looking cooker and ribs. Do you just light one side of the coals for a cooker like that? Or light a corner? Interested to know how they work. Nice job!

I light about 1/2 a chimney and just toss it on top. Seems to spread on its own pretty good. I think my longest cook was 14 hrs. Near the end I did have to do some fire maintenance. For ribs no fire messing need. I have about 1/2 the charcoal left over.
