I don't think this was posted yet, but all the Racine interest I read about shows that another northern IL event might be of interest.

I notice on the ILBBQ Society site that Lamb's Farm will hold a KCBS event this year.

Here's the info link:

I searched the word Libertyville and got no hits, but if this is a duplicate thread, please delete.

We plan on making Libertyville our first event. Went to Racine last week to check it out and everyone that we talked with was very helpful to us.

See you there!

Gary

other than possibly being cold out it should be a good one..its being organized by the DR Porkenstein BBQ team so although its a first year comp at least its being run by competiton BBQ cooks...
Its also a state qualifier as well
I hope to do this one as well

No duplicate as of yet. I talked with kate, and she was going to announce, but as of yet she has not made it here yet. Bill, ya beat her to it.

We are planning on attending. Hope to see others there, except for chi-town smokers cause they will kick our asses.

Now Greg I dont know whether to take that as a compliment or not :-D

A compliment of course.

Lamb's farm is a campus that supports the developmentally disabled by giving them work and allowing them to help and take care of themselves.

Here is a link. http://www.lambsfarm.org/

This should also be a neat venue to cook at.

Um, Greg. I already supplied a link.

The kids love going to lambs farm, and we have been supporting them for years. It is truly a special place serving the disabled.

its also good to support any chicago area KCBS competition just because we have so few of them. This may open the door to more. It will be nice to drive less than an hr for a comp

VooDoo / Partners in Swine are in for that contest. It should be a good one I have been emailing back and forth with Kate and they have some good ideas. Always good when regular competitors put a contest on.
