The playing field is leveled so to speak and teams come in from all over and even Canada. The payout is big and the southern hospitality is second to none. For some reason a lot of the KCBS teams that are invited choose not to come which is their loss.
The following day is the Open which includes most of the Invitational teams plus any others that want to enter. The whole event is one of my favorite top 3 or 4 contests of the year. If you truly enjoy competing in BBQ contests you do not want to miss it. |
I'm in now and looking forward to it. Glad I could squeeze in one more this year. I think the "no garnish allowed" put me over the top for wanting to enter
