Anyone have any experience with avocado wood for smoking?

Here in socal wood is pretty expensive. This guy is about an hour away. What do you think? Is it worth it?

CRocke uses Avocado and sent me some last year. It's a pretty hardwood and smokes very nice. It has a nice mild smoke that I found very good for chicken, pork and fish.
