Smoked Turkey on the Akorn

I have a knack for shutting down threads.......<smile>

Just curious if the temp was taken quickly up to 425F and how long it took to finish the turkey. That's a higher temp than I would have guessed one would use to smoke a turkey.
 
Do you mind sharing your total cook time? And did you ramp up and cook at 425F as planned?

3:10 - Yes... ramped up to 425, but that ramp up process took about 45 to 50 minutes so I wouldn't overshoot it...

You could use some extra virgin olive oil... If you decide to go that route, heat up some olive oil in a saucepan to about 200 degrees or so. Add the onion and garlic powder and let it cool to season the oil nicely...

Thanks! I'll likely try this after Thanksgiving......and likely wouldn't have without the video.
