I will be in St. Louis (Fenton) the week of January 13th on business. Would like to hit some good Q, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

PM BBQ out in Chesterfield is good.
Bogart's in Soulard is supposed to be the best. Haven't had a chance to go there myself.
Pappy's a serious let down

My house has some decent grub...

I liked Pappys. Perhaps a tad overrated, but definitely not a let down IMO. Just get there early - they sell out of most of their food by 7pm.

Cook it up, I'm there.

Cook it up, I'm there.

I'm off on Fridays. Could do up some ribs. I'm off at 4:30 Mon-Thur. Not a lot of time to smoke stuff those days. But, could certainly grill up some steaks.

It's too bad you won't be here on the 10th. We're doing practice run for a comp on the 25th

I went to Sugarfire recently and it was alright. The place was packed on a Saturday night.

I went to the St. Louis BBQ Store to pick up my newest smoker and went to Pappy's. It was OK. But I should of just fired up my smoker in the back of my truck while I was in the Casino Parking Lot.

No need to go to any trouble, maybe we can get together for a drink instead. I will be in meetings until about 5 everyday. PM me your info

Maybe I caught Pappy's on a good day. I went there in October, based on reviews here, and everything was fantastic. Would put it in my top five for restaurant Q. I went during the week, and was an early dinner - around 5PM.

I wound up being down here on business last week. I stopped at Smokin' K's in Millstadt and made it to Bogarts. Bogarts to me was outstanding. I wound up chatting with the owner, Skip, for 30 minutes about bbq. Restaurant, competition, catering, backyard. One of the best experiences I had at a bbqrestaurant. I also didn't know that Skip owns Pappys Q as well. The ribs were the best I've had at a restaurant, baked beans and coleslaw was awesome. The burnt ends were good as were the wings. Not one bad thing that happened at the restaurant.

Another trip to St. Louis area allowed me the opportnity to try some new bbq joints. Last on my bucketlist down there was Sugarfire, a restaurant started by an ex-chef of Pappys Q. He does offer some interesting options, I got pork belly hush puppies witb a jalapeno jelly, not bad. Then a 2 meat combo of brisket and pork. Sad to say but the brisket, was just average with a crazy amouny of fat. Some people like that, but just a little is ok with me. The pork was once again just average with all kinds of fat chunks. If you head down there, my vote would be Bogarts, wicked awesome food with good customer service.
