Picked up a bag of Orange Wood chunks from (Western Wood) they were free, so why not.
Have never used orange wood before, is it similar to peach wood? Was thinking of using a couple chunks with a chunk of Pecan for the turkey this week. Thanks!

I use citrus wood all the time, orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, etc. It provides a nice gently smoke flavor not overpowering.

I just got a portable building to put behind my shop(for all my wife's stuff) and to get it in, they had to prune some kumquat trees. I kept the bigger pieces and plan on trying it out after the wood dries.

I use orange and other citrus when I have it, my brother brings a load every time he comes North to visit me.

Orange as well as other citrus woods have a medium smoke flavor with a hint of fruitiness. Excellent with beef, pork and poultry. Sometimes I even trow in a few orange peels to boost the citrus flavors.
