Just got back from cleaning up the grounds, and finally able to get back to the computer.
Muzzlebrake - thanks for your faithful posting of contest results.

The weekend was so much fun - hosting a bunch of great teams plus all the other activities that go with our weekend. Just wish there was more time to spend with each of you.

So congrats to Tippi. This was our 6th year as a contest, and Tippi has won 3 times!
How often does that happen?? I just know it is no fluke - he is a top quality proven winner.

But just look at the list above. We were loaded with top quality teams. What an honor that they choose to come to our contest.

In addition to our cash prize, Tippi wins a free entry into the World BBQ championship in Laughlin NV this Nov. plus a free hotel room while he is there. That is a $100,000 contest with the winner getting a new truck!

Anybody else think Joe has a real good chance at a contest like this??

Congrats to everybody who walked and heard their names, even though a rain storm rudely interrupted awards and made us rush thru the presentations.

Big shout out to Hogline on 4th overall - how exciting for this new and up a coming team and the only Minnesota team in the top 13. Way to go Dustin and company!!

Yes, the other 12 of the top 13 were Iowa teams. Might as well say it myself, some one was going to mention it anyway.

Got to spend a bit of time with Jeff, Derek, and Ted from Shiggin and Grinnin - always a treat.

Also had a nice visit with Ryan, Justin, Joe and Scott who stayed over after awards. Great to see all of you again. You all add quality to any contest they are in.

Always great to have a visit with the Rookie 48. Thanks for coming.

We had at least a half dozen judges came early with their campers and made a weekend of it. That was great.

Again, thanks to everyone for coming and helping us be the strong contest that we are.

I have personal experience with some of that pavement, but it was not this weekend.

Was the fall from too much celebration for winning ribs??

Well, we do have grass sites available if you wish for next year. They were kind of soggy this year. Grass stains are easier to deal with.

Pat just left a little bit of himself behind . Or was he just marking his spot???

Pat, I have never confused you with average. So not surprised that you survived.

Am concerned, however, if you are alright. I see the scrape, but you are holding your head. Are you OK?

The head holding was due to an accident with Makers Mark...Jaestar Jason was at fault there also.
 
Yes, I have bumped heads with Makers Mark in the past. Really smooth and nice when you first meet him. It is only later that you realize what a sneaky devil he really is.

Could have been worse. One of my friends gave me some homemade Apple Pie that tasted wonderful and perfectly innocent. But right quick you felt the presence of the moonshine and Everclear that was in it. Lucky for me, moderation was the word of the day.

Did not get much of a chance to talk with Jason. Sounds like an interesting character.

Hope you are all feeling better now.
 
Good thing I have witnesses :drama: and I was the one that suggested you layoff the Makers...and start drinking Crown :razz:

Coz, would really love it if you came. Fun? Yeah, I guess you could say we have a good time over here.

A guy from Montello would fit right in. We don't have a waterfall in the middle of town, but we do have a river.

You missed another good one.

But we will be back this time next year.
 
This is one of the funnest contests in the midwest. If you havn't checked it out you are missing out. Glad I had to get out of there earlier on Saturday night would have made for a very bad Sunday if I stayed. Joe, Ryan, Justin and Scott I don't know how you do it week in and week out. Saturday morning was tough enough, but a fun one none the less. Glad I only had to go 3 miles to get back to my home.:wink:
