BBQ Brethren "By Brethren for Brethren" Throwdown

Wow, that looks great Marty! Fine job on your first packer. :thumb: As far as picking one, I like the last one (hard to pass on sliced brisky, MOINK balls, and burnt ends)! If you don't pick one, Chris will pick one for your entry in the vote thread.

Wow Marty. That is one heck of a great feast, I don't doubt John will be asking to help get rid of leftovers. :becky:

I am not comfortable selling it without having done the proper legwork first. I am pretty sure you can not sell foodstuffs that you create the same way you can sell other crafts you make. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it needs a nutrition label, an approved facility, all that. Of course...I haven't even checked all that out yet!:becky:

Oh whats a couple of bottles of Foil hats between friends,,,,:heh:

Here is my Throwdown inside a Throwdown.

Posted here http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=5 , but here is most of it:

For Christmas, I got a box of rubs. I've done a few cooks with only a couple of them, but have been looking for some time to do a comparison cook. Well, with this week's Throwdown being For Brethren by Brethren, I thought what better time.

And the contenders:

It was just one full spare, cut up. It isn't a fair contest because each rub gets a different section of meat, but.... This is just for fun.

The meat went on around 3:00 at around 235* with some apple wood chunks.

2:40 minutes later, the thermopen is probing through quite easily. Sauce is 50/50 Blues Hog and Head Country.

First up, served up with some mashed potatoes and corn.

Yum... I believe that is 6 Brethren products. (5 Rubs + Blues Hog Sauce) That should count for something.

The plated photo isn't anything special. How about using the picture of the ribs done in the smoker for my entry. 3rd from the bottom. Thanks.

This means I am offiically back...and looking to maintain my ZERO Club status :clap2:

Here is my entry...I used some Bovine...I used my new Wok from Tom hoping this counts enough for an entry....and not that it's a Brethren product...but I used some tasty adult beverage and then followed it up with homemade sopapillas.
(single shot is entry)- THANKS!

Bill....chicken wangs and ribs? Who needs corn and zuchini (although they look yummy too)?!
Marty....that brisket is farkin KILLER!
Hot Mama....That plate is mighty tasty!
----k---- Ribs. I LOVE ribs. Yours look awesome.

Great entries so far to all.

I gotta get me sumu dat Big Butz Sauce!

Even more fantastic looking food! You all rock!

I think this is one of my favorite throwdowns simply because there is a lot of great down to earth food coming out of it.

The real surprise was the beans. They were over the top. I think cooking them on the BGE and Tom's Big Butz BBQ sauce addition did it.

OK, I just got a taste of some of Marty's leftover beans and they were darn tasty! :eusa_clap I'm not a big bean guy but if they tasted like this all the time I certainly would be. IMO, the point meat & the Big Butz sauce are both welcome additions!

Trying to get myself to enter more TD's, you guys sure don't make it easy to want to throw my hat into the ring  So here we go, did some ribs today using Brethren rub. The detailed thread can be found here, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did :becky:
