We will also be competeing in the Las Vegas Brethern cookoff. Its only ribs, brisket, beans and pie. The judges need to byob. Good Luck in INdy

We will be there Friday morning. Have you heard if they are doing the potluck friday night?

Anybody know if they will allow you to setup on Thursday night?? That may be the only way it will work for us...

I wish I could be there - but I am doing a quick wedding for a service man who is being deployed. I really wanted to try ribs again before the year ended!!!
Anyway, good luck Brethren. And especially tou you, Buster so that you can get that ranking in the IBS!!

FYI, Buster was helping me work on rib presentation when the judges visited him in DBQ. I can't help but feel that was all my fault!!!

This is going to be the 1st (and pry last) competition for HART BURN Competition BBQ Team. Can't wait to get going!!
I'll be dropping off the chuckwagon early then coming home to get my vast array of BBQ cooking equipment (be nice, I spent all my money on the chuckwagon and the mule).
Last year they had the potluck and free beers Fri. night. Nice way to ease into the evening.

I've been trying to get on and the BBQ Brethren has let me register, but won't let me post. I'll try to send out a mass e-mail tonight. but until then;

Set-up begins at 8:00 Friday morning. If you come before then, you have to stay at the community campground on the south side of town, or one of our three hotels.

YES! There will be a cooks pot-luck again this year, and YES! we will be tapping a couple kegs of Boulevard Wheat. We'll provide plates and cups and utensils.

Right now we are at 26 teams. But I have heard from four oths who say they will "probabaly" be there. For whatever that's worth.

Again, I apologize for being so late on packets--or actually not getting them out. It sucks when your money job gets in the way of your volunteer work!

A little side note, we needed a 173 or better to win chicken for Iowa, as posted by the IBS, but unfortunatly only got a 171. Its been a great season for BBQ in Iowa.
